The third Grand Slam of the year, Wimbledon, is about to get underway at the All England Club and we give you all the information you need ahead of the tournament.
This year’s Championships, Wimbledon, will mark the 138th edition of the tournament in London while the Ladies’ event will be staged for the 131st time.
As for its Open Era record, it will be 57th time that Wimbledon will take place since the sport turned professional in 1968 with one edition cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What are the dates for Wimbledon 2025?
The singles main draw action will get underway on Monday, 30 June with the women’s final scheduled for Saturday, 12 July while the men’s showpiece match will take place a day later.
Both finals have new time slots as it will begin at 16:00 local time instead of 14:00 with organisers hoping to attract more viewers from North and South America.
The qualifying tournament will be staged from 23-26 June at Roehampton.

The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club has hosted the grass-court tournament since the inaugural edition in 1877. It was held at Worple Road until 1921 before moving to Church Road.
The private members’ club in Church Road, Wimbledon, boasts the most famous tennis court in the world, Centre Court. The showpiece stadium celebrated its centenary anniversary in 2022.
Centre Court has a Royal Box, a £100 million retractable roof and can seat up to 14,979 spectators.
No. 1 Court also has a retractable roof, which was completed in 2019, and can host up to 12,345 people while No. 2 Court has a capacity of 4,000.
Who won the Wimbledon titles in 2024?
Carlos Alcaraz successfully defended his crown at the All England Club as he again defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, this time winning 6–2, 6–2, 7–6 (7–4) following his five-set marathon victory in 2024.
There was a new name on the women’s Venus Rosewater Dish as Barbora Krejcikova – who was seeded 31st – beat Jasmine Paolini 6–2, 2–6, 6–4 to win her second Grand Slam.
Who are the top seeds in 2025?
World No 1 Jannik Sinner will for the second year in a row be the top seed at Wimbledon and he will be followed by Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti. Holger Rune is currently seeded eighth, but he could still be replaced by Daniil Medvedev while Ben Shelton is 10th.
Tennis great Djokovic is set for his 20th appearance at Wimbledon, looking to win a record-equalling eighth title.
The top 10 seeds in the women’s draw have been confirmed with Aryna Sabalenka leading Coco Gauff, Paolini, Jessica Pegula, Zheng Qinwen, Madison Keys, Mirra Andreeva, Iga Swiatek, Emma Navarro and Paula Badosa.
Emma Raducanu will be the highest-ranked British woman in the draw, but she missed out on a seeding as she is at No 36 in the rankings with the cut-off at No 32.

Any big-name absentees?
Three-time Grand Slam runner-up Casper Ruud and Arthur Fils are so far the biggest casualties as both were set to be seeded, but are out because of injury while world No 23 Sebastian Korda will also miss the tournament because of injury.
2022 runner-up Nick Kyrgios entered using his protected ranking of 23, but he has also withdrawn.
There have been no notable withdrawals from the women’s draw so far, but a week is a long time in tennis.
Which players received wildcards for Wimbledon 2025?
All eight wildcards in the men’s draw are British with Dan Evans the highest-profile name.
Two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova is the only non-British player to get a wildcard in the women’s draw. Just days after being awarded a wildcard, the Czech announced it will be her last Wimbledon event as she will retire later this year.
When is the draw for the grass-court major?
The draw has been scheduled for Friday, 27 June at 10:00 local time.
What about the daily schedule for the two weeks of tennis?
As per tradition, play will start 11:00 BST every day on the outside courts while the action on No.1 Court starts at 13:00 before the main attraction on Centre Court begins at 13.30.
Matches on No.1 Court will start at 11am on the final weekend while the women’s and men’s finals will now get underway at 16:00 instead of 14:00 on Centre Court on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
What is the prize money for Wimbledon 2025?
The overall prize pool has increased by seven per cent from 2024 with a total of £53,550,000 (about $72m) to be paid out.
For the first time in history, a Grand Slam singles champion will earn £3,000,000 (about $4m).
