Gallery: The story from day eight at the 2018 French Open
Here’s our pictorial from the middle Sunday of the 2018 French Open at Roland Garros.
Karen Khachanov and Alexander Zverev had an epic tussle for a quarter-final berth.
It was Zverev who came out on top, though.
Marco Cecchinato had to get down and dirty to overcome David Goffin.
But it was worth the effort in the end.
Back to the drawing board for a visibly weary Goffin, though.
Sloane Stephens was in brilliant form.
And Madison Keys appears to be peaking at the right time too.
Novak Djokovic looks ever closer to his old imperious self.
Dominic Thiem looks in great shape too, and he’ll need to be at his best with Zverev up next for the Austrian.
It was glum news for the Williams’ sisters though, with them eliminated from the doubles competition.
