2025 WTA Stuttgart Entry List: All 4 of the world’s best players to participate

The second clay-court WTA 500 of the 2025 season will take place in Stuttgart, representing the 47th edition of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
This season’s event will take place from April 14 – 20, being the last opportunity to get practice on the surface before the first clay-court WTA 1000 in Madrid.
Elena Rybakina defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 6-2 in the 2024 final, however, the Kazakh will be absent from this season’s event.
How many players will feature in the draw?
The main draw for the singles event will feature 28 singles players, with four participants coming from wildcards and another four players from qualifying.
Who has received wildcards?
The wildcards for the WTA 500 Stuttgart event have been revealed, with all four going to German players.
Eva Lys, Tatjana Maria, Julie Niemeier, and Laura Siegemund will all participate in the event.
How many players have withdrawn?
World No 9 Paula Badosa withdrew from the tournament due to chronic back pains which forced her to withdraw from the Miami Open in March, before also pulling out of the Charleston Open.
She is replaced by Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk.
Two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova withdrew from WTA 500 Stuttgart because of lingering back issues which kept her out of the first Grand Slam of the season, as well as Indian Wells and Miami.
She is replaced by Tunisian Ons Jabeur.
Which former champions will play?
Two former champions will play: Iga Swiatek (2022 and 2023) and Laura Siegemund (2017).
Have any players used a protected ranking to enter?
Players who have not played in any tournament due to injury – for a minimum of six months – are eligible to use the ATP-protected ranking system.
The protected ranking will be determined by the average ranking position during the first three months of the player’s injury. They can use the protected ranking to enter a maximum of nine tournaments for a period of nine months – starting from the first tournament that they participate in.
However, no players have used a protected ranking to enter the WTA 500 in Stuttgart.
