Alexander Zverev given honest Grand Slam prediction by Jannik Sinner’s coach

Jannik Sinner’s coach has given his verdict on whether Alexander Zverev will win a Grand Slam title in his career.
Zverev widely considered one of the best male players in tennis history who has not secured one of the four major singles titles.
The German lost in straight sets to world No 1 Sinner in the 2025 Australian Open final in January — a defeat that took his record in Grand Slam title matches to 0-3.
The 27-year-old lost his first two major finals in five sets: to Dominic Thiem at the 2020 US Open and Carlos Alcaraz at the 2024 French Open.
Zverev has reached a career-high ranking of No 2 and won 23 ATP singles titles — a tally that includes two-time ATP Finals crowns, seven Masters 1000 titles and an Olympic gold medal.
Following his loss to Sinner, Zverev struggled badly as he posted a 6-6 record across his next six tournaments.
The world No 3 has won three matches to reach the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Munich, where he is seeking his first title of the season.

In an interview with Il Venerdi di Repubblica, Vagnozzi backed Zverev to make his Grand Slam breakthrough.
“I am convinced that Zverev will win a Slam, at least,” said the Italian coach.
“He improved a lot after the ankle injury. He made more progress from that moment on than in the whole period before.”
Vagnozzi, who has coached Sinner since February 2022, also spoke about his relationship with the 23-year-old Italian.
“We live together 24 hours a day at certain times of the year, it is normal for the relationship to go beyond the profession,” Vagnozzi explained.
“But balance is needed, it is essential not to become too much of a friend because friendship prevents us from making important but necessary decisions. It is a compromise where the technical aspect cannot prevail, empathy is needed, we are people.
“There have never been arguments. We have had confrontations, even heated ones. I remember the Roland Garros in 2023, second round against [Daniel] Altmaier: the body language was negative and the opponent took advantage of it.
“In tennis, it is important not to give signals, no one must know what you feel. We talked about that episode for a long time, we have never seen him like that again.”
