Alexander Zverev plays down Stefanos Tsitsipas snub as he names his current top hard-court players

There is no place for Stefanos Tsitsipas in Alexander Zverev’s current top-three hard-court players, but the latter has made it clear it is not because he has “something against” the Greek.
Zverev was asked about his top hard-court players during a press conference in Vienna and Tsitsipas did not make the list even though the Greek is third in the ATP Rankings.
The German opted for world No 1 Novak Djokovic, US Open champion Daniil Medvedev and himself.
Zverev and Tsitsipas have never been the best of friends on the ATP circuit, but they appeared to patch things up at the recent Laver Cup in Boston and the German made it clear that they are in a good space in terms of their relationship.
“If I have to make a ranking based on hard courts,” he said. “I would say Djokovic, Medvedev and me.”
He added: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not taking Tsitsipas out of it. Please don’t start this thing of me against Stefanos, I’m in very good relationship with Stef right now and I have nothing against him.”

It is hardly a surprise that Zverev went with himself over Tsitsipas as 11 of his 17 titles have come on hard courts while his Greek rival has won only four titles on the surface.
