Alexander Zverev teams up with Ivan Lendl ahead of US Open

World No 4 Alexander Zverev has added Ivan Lendl to his coaching set-up ahead of the US Open.
The 21-year-old, who many regard as a future world No 1, made the announcement on Instagram.
Zverev has won nine ATP Tour singles titles, including three Masters 1000 trophies, but he is yet to replicate that form in Grand Slams as he his best showing at a major is his quarter-final appearance at this year’s French Open.
His record at Flushing Meadows also needs improving as he is yet to reach the third round, but he will be hoping Lendl will help him to turn his Grand Slam fortunes around.
“Sascha has a unique set of skills and a great work ethic so I am looking forward to helping him achieve his goals,” Lendl was quoted as saying by his manager Jerry Solomon after the announcement.
Happy to announce that #IvanLendl will be working w @sascha_zverev beginning with the @usopen. Should be a great team. #tennis.
