Andy Murray ‘doesn’t know yet if he’ll actually play’ at Wimbledon

It remains to be seen if Andy Murray will compete at Wimbledon this year, according to a report.

The three-time Grand Slam winner was expected to make his long-awaited return at the Rosmalen event, which starts on June 11 in the Netherlands, while he had also pencilled in the Queen’s Club Championship as a warm-up event for Wimbledon.

However, reports emerged last week that his rehabilitation following hip surgery in January has not gone according to plan and he could now miss the entire grass-court season.

Although the Murray camp is yet to make an official statement regarding his recovery, an insider told The Guardian “he doesn’t yet know if he’ll be 100% and will actually play – he won’t know exact plans until much closer to the time”.

His mother, Judy, also recently dismissed suggestions that he could retire, telling BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire Show: “I don’t think so; he’s still got a lot of things he wants to achieve in the game.”
