ATP Finals draw: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer find out groups

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer find themselves in the same group for the ATP Finals with world No 1 Rafael Nadal headlining the other group.
Besides world No 2 Djokovic and 20-time Grand Slam winner Federer, Group Bjorn Borg also features Roland Garros runner-up Dominic Thiem from Austria and ATP Finals debutant Matteo Berrettini from Italy.
Nadal heads into next week’s tournament under an injury cloud as an abdominal strain forced him to withdraw from his Paris Masters semi-final against Denis Shapovalov last week.
And the Group Andre Agassi is not the easiest either as the 19-time Grand Slam champion will face 2019’s breakout star Daniil Medvedev from Russia, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas as well as defending ATP Finals champion Alexander Zverev from Germany.

Besides the illustrious season-ending title, the world No 1 ranking is also on the line for Nadal and Djokovic.
The Spaniard returned to the top of the rankings on Monday and leads Djokovic by 640 points ahead of the tournament.
If Djokovic wins the event without losing a match, then the only way Nadal can stay top of the rankings is by reaching the final without dropping a match in the group stage.
The action gets underway on Sunday with Djokovic taking on Berrettini in the first singles match of the day before Federer and Thiem square off later on.
It’s the turn of Group Andre Agassi on Monday and Medvedev and Tsitsipas open the action with Nadal and Zverev bringing the day’s play to a close.
