ATP Finals ‘Harry Potter’ photo and comic draw hilarious responses – ‘They did me dirty’
The official 2023 ATP Finals photo has been revealed and fans are clamouring for the glory days when players wore suits while the unofficial comic has also managed to set the tongues wagging.
The eight best players from the 2023 ATP Tour season are currently in Turin, Italy, for the season-ending tournament with Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune the players who have qualified.
The pre-tournament fun includes a traditional photo shoot and in years gone by the likes of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray used to don suits.
But those days are gone as this year the memo was clearly smart casual with Djokovic and Alcaraz opting for their baseball/football-style jackets to go with jeans although one X user wanted to know “Why does Djokovic insist on dressing like a teenager?”
Tsitsipas wore a poncho and white pants, Sinner “looks like he’s just finished his shift as a classroom assistant” while Zverev dressed in a smart black jacket and pants and also unveiled his new slick hair style that would fit right in at “Slytherin”.
Unsurprising really as “they each look like Harry Potter characters”.
Medvedev, though, is “dressing like that one IT guy who takes your computer into the back when it’s completely borked”.
And then there is Rune who “looks ready for the spelling bee” while another person said “Rune looks like a fan kid who jumped in at the last moment”.

Unsurprisingly, many fans were urging organisers to bring back the suits.
But the official photo was not the only image that drew attention as Tennis TV (the official ATP streaming service) also released their ATP Finals comic.
It features the eight qualified players in the departure lounge and ready for takeoff to Turin, but there is a lot to unpack.
First there is Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz being denied entry into the lounge after they missed the cut and the former made light of it as he took to Instagram to state: “They did me dirty😂”

Friends Medvedev and Rublev have their own little party while Djokovic and Rune are playing chess, which is no doubt in reference to a recent revelations that Boris Becker played chess with both players after he joined their coaching set-ups.
Let’s not forget Tsitsipas who is reading a book by himself. It is not just any book as he is learning Spanish, presumably to impress his girlfriend and fellow tennis player Paula Badosa.
