ATP Rankings: Carlos Alcaraz overtakes Alexander Zverev, Bu Yunchaokete +27, Arthur Fils & Ugo Humbert climb
Carlos Alcaraz has leapfrogged Alexander Zverev in the ATP Rankings after winning the China Open, while Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert have moved up after success at the Japan Open.
Jannik Sinner has entered his 17th week as the world No 1, which puts him in 18th place in the all-time list for most weeks on top of the ATP Rankings.
The 23-year-old Italian sits on 11,010 points and holds a huge 4,000-point lead over Carlos Alcaraz after losing to his Spanish rival in the Beijing final.
Alcaraz’s triumph at the ATP 500 tournament increased his points tally by 320 points to 7,010, allowing him to overtake Zverev to claim the world No 2 position.
There was no other movement in the top 10 of the ATP Rankings as Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev featured in Beijing, while Taylor Fritz, Hubert Hurkacz and Casper Ruud all suffered early exits in Tokyo.

Alexander Zverev tells Carlos Alcaraz to forget about No 1 ranking ‘as it has gone to Jannik Sinner’
Fils defeated French compatriot Humbert in the final of the Japan Open and the 475 points gained for his victory has taken him from 24th to 21st in the rankings — putting him one place below his career-high of 20th.
Humbert’s runner-up result helped him increase his points total by 275 points, moving him up four spots from 19th to 15th.
Ben Shelton climbed from 17th to 16th despite his Tokyo title defence ending with a a quarter-final exit, while Frances Tiafoe has dropped from 15th to 17th after losing in the first round in Japan. Sebastian Korda, who has not played since the US Open, has fallen from 16th to 19th place.
Alex Michelsen has jumped from 49th to a new career-high ranking position of 43rd after his run to the quarter-finals in Tokyo. Adrian Mannarino has slid nine place from 44th to 53rd after a second round exit in Beijing.
Bu Yunchaokete, the 22-year-old rising Chinese star, has made a 27-spot surge from 96th to a new career-high of 69th after reaching the China Open semi-finals.
Great Britain’s Jacob Fearnley has entered the top 100 of the ATP Rankings for the first time after winning the Orleans Challenger — his fourth Challenger title in just over three months. The 23-year-old has jumped 28 places to world No 98.
