ATP tennis betting special: Roger Federer to win Wimbledon next year? Andy Murray to win a title?

The start of the 2021 tennis season is just a few weeks away so we have decided to look at some tennis betting specials and there are some juicy tips.

It has taken them a while to come up with an early season calendar, but the ATP has finally revealed that the new campaign will kick off on 5 January with Delray Beach in Florida and Antalya in Turkey hosting ATP 250 events.

The Australian Open qualifying tournament is next on the agenda with Doha, Qatar, hosting the event from 10-13 January before the sport moves to Melbourne, Australia.

Two warm-up events, Melbourne 1 and Melbourne 2, will run from 31 January to 6 February while the ATP Cup will be staged from 1-5 January.

It all comes to a conclusion with the Australian Open with the hard-court Grand Slam now taking place from 8-21 February at Melbourne Park.

Staying with the Australian Open, defending champion Novak Djokovic is the clear favourite with the bookies as the Serb is 13/8 to win a record-extending ninth title Down Under.

Rafael Nadal is next best with 7/1 or if you are looking for a new name on the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup then reigning US Open champion Dominic Thiem is 11/2 with bet365 with Daniil Medvedev 6/1 and Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev both 12/1.

Roger Federer is still touch and go for the season-opening Grand Slam and he is 8/1 at most places, but he should be fully fit by the time Wimbledon takes place and he is 9/1 to win title No 9 at the All England Club with Djokovic 6/4 to defend the trophy he won in 2019.

Andy Murray is also expected to be in good nick by the time the grass-court season takes place, but you can get him as an outsider at 28/1 to win a third Wimbledon title.

What about the French Open? Unsurprisingly, Nadal is favourite to win title No 14 at Roland Garros with 6/5 odds with Dominic Thiem a handy 4/1. Stan Wawrinka can beat anybody on his day and he is a juicy 50/1.

As for the US Open, defending champion Thiem is 6/1 to win at Flushing Meadows along with Nadal and Medvedev.

What about the season-ending No 1 ranking? It has been a while since we had a name other than Djokovic, Federer or Nadal finish the year in top spot.

Murray was the last player to do so in 2016 and you have to go as far back as 2003 for the previous occasion when a member of the Big Three was not No 1 at the end of the year.

Coral has Djokovic 13/8 to be the year-end No 1 for a record seventh time with Nadal 2/1 while Thiem is 7/2 and Medvedev is 13/2 to break their dominance.

Sticking with Coral and they have some Murray specials with the three-time Grand Slam winner a handy 13/8 to finish inside the ATP Top 20 next year and 11/10 to win a title.
