Boris Becker news: German confident he’ll be out of British prison by Christmas

Boris Becker was found guilty of bankruptcy fraud at the end of April and was sentenced to 30 months, but he will only serve half of that, however it’s been revealed that the German thinks he’ll be back in his homeland by Christmas.
The three time Wimbledon champion spoke only once during his court hearing and that was just to confirm his name but it’s also come to light that Becker has been teaching English to the foreign prisoners at HMP Wandsworth where he is serving his time.
The 54-year-old hid £2.5 million worth of assets after he declared himself as bankrupt, and was found guilty on four offences under the Insolvency Act between June 21 and October 3 2017, but he wants to be deported back to Germany due to their “softer penal system than Britain.”
A source said: “He’s very confident he’ll be back in Germany well before Christmas.
“He believes he would be out on license there by Christmas as they have a much more lenient justice system.”
This is due to the UK Government’s Early Removal Scheme which the Home Office says is that: “Any foreign national who is convicted of a crime and given a prison sentence is considered for deportation at the earliest opportunity.”
After Becker was told of how long he would serve, his daughter Anna Ermakova was shocked but was still determined to support him.
“I’m really in shock that my father has been sentenced to two years and six months,” she said.
“I will support him and visit him whenever I can.
“I hope that will help him a little to get through the time.”
Becker was a pundit on Eurosport before he was put behind bars but he has now been replaced on the channel by former world No 25 and brother of Alexander Zverev, Mischa Zverev.
