Tennis star Camila Giorgi draws mixed response after posting sexy lingerie images on social media

Tennis star Camila Giorgi has been targeted by online trolls after sharing a series of racy lingerie snaps on her social media channels.
The 30-year-old Italian, who reached a career-high of world No.26 in October 2018, made it through the quarter-finals of Wimbledon in that same year.
Now she has come under fire from a small selection of social media users after posing in a selection of photographs that has predictably been viewed by millions around the world.
Georgi’s images are certain to bolster he already sizeable social media following, with her 313,000 Instagram followers clearly enjoying the photographs that were greeted with tens of thousands of likes.
However, some comments were less than complimentary, with some critics accusing her of looking like a ‘porn star’ rather than an athlete.
One of her followers wrote: “Come on! You are gorgeous but do you really need to expose your body in public to boost your confidence?”
Another posted this reply: “From a tennis player to a porn actress on a set.”
There were also a host of replies complimenting Giorgi glamour shots, with the Italian giving her huge army of admirers on Instagram a very special New Year surprise.
Giorgi is not the first tennis player to pose for images such as this, with Caroline Wozniacki famously posing in just paint on a beach for an edition of Sports Illustrated.

Male tennis stars have also posed for sexy images down the years, with 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal famously fronting a campaign to promote Tommy Hilfiger underwear.
