Carlos Alcaraz’s younger brother Jaime has been receiving a lot attention from tennis fans as he looks to forge his own career in tennis.

Footage of the 13-year-old Jaime is doing the rounds on social media and naturally fans are comparing him to his older brother as the youngster’s technique is quite similar to that of Carlos while they even have the same hairstyle.

Four-time Grand Slam winner Carlos is proud that his brother is looking to follow in his footsteps and during an interview at the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia, he was asked about Jaime copying his hairstyle and described it as “hilarious”.

“His haircut – I don’t spend too much time at home – so I hear from my mom that he asked the barber to have the same haircut as me. It is funny, it is hilarious,” the 21-year-old said.

“Honestly he plays well, I’m not gonna lie. He’s getting to a really good level.”

But then the reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion became serious as he believes his brother should be given time and space to grow at his own pace.

Alcaraz urged tennis fans and social media users to leave the youngster alone until he has it all figured out.

The world No 2 added: “There are a lot of people around, a lot of videos and accounts from social media that are saying he’s going to be similar to his brother. And I don’t really like that you know in that way.

“I just want all the people or all the social media [users] to just leave him alone because he plays well but it’s not the best [yet].

“For me, I’m a little bit worried for the people who are around him during the tournament that they’re gonna go to watch him because he’s my brother and then he’ll probably put pressure on himself.

“Let’s see how he handles it. I’ll be there for him for sure. He loves tennis and every time he can, he goes to court – he asks my father to go to the court and hit some balls. For me that’s great, that he loves playing tennis and let’s see if he’s gonna get better and better and hopefully one year I’ll play against him.”
