Carlos Alcaraz predicts which year he will retire and the final Grand Slam he will play
Carlos Alcaraz has forecasted the year in which he expects to retire from tennis and the last Grand Slam event he will play in his career.
The 21-year-old star also divulged the number of children he hopes to have and predicted the name of his future wife.
Alcaraz defeated Ben Shelton in the Garden Cup, an exhibition event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday.
“Well, I always say that I’m trying to make the people enjoy watching tennis. I just try to put the best of myself on court, try to play great shots, great points,” the Spaniard said in an on-court interview after the match.
“When I’m playing against Ben it’s even easier doing it because the vibes, the game he has is unbelievable as well. But yeah, I Hope the people enjoyed the match. That’s what I try to do every time.”
The world No 3 will face another American star, Frances Tiafoe, in the Charlotte Invitational exhibition on Friday.

Alcaraz appeared in a video posted on the Instagram account of Daniel Fernandez, a magician and content creator.
Fernandez asked Alcaraz a series of questions about his future after handing him a piece of paper — on which the magician apparently correctly predicted the answers the tennis star gave.
Q. What year will you play your last Slam?
ALCARAZ: It’s 2024, I’m 21, 2037? 2034 or 2035. No, I’ll change it. 2037! Yes that’s the last one. Because the true greats play a long time, I want to reach the peak and be 35, still fighting.
Q. Where will it be out of the four Slams?
ALCARAZ: Wimbledon
Q. You’re single, right? I want you to imagine that you’re married. In 2037, at Wimbledon, about to become the greatest tennis player in history, right? And you look to the stands, you see a woman. Do you have kids?
ALCARAZ: Hopefully, three
Q. What’s your wife’s name?
ALCARAZ: Ahh, what’s my wife’s name? I’m not sure, I will say… Maria.
Alcaraz has won two of his four Grand Slam title at Wimbledon (in 2023 and 2024), while he also triumphed at the 2022 US Open and this year’s French Open.
