Coco Gauff is one of the best tennis players in the world even at the age of 20.

Coco Gauff has already won the US Open but at the age of 20 and ranked No. 3 in the world, the American looks likely to add more titles in the future.

To do that, she must overcome the best players in the world, which has not always been the easiest tasks for her.

With Gauff currently at No. 3 in the world, here is her record against the other nine women in the WTA top 10.

10 Paula Badosa

The No 10 in the rankings currently is Paula Badosa who Gauff first played at Indian Wells in 2021.

During that match, Badosa won in straight sets, beating Gauff in the round of 32. The American got her revenge a year later when she defeated the Spaniard in Doha but Badosa then won their next two meets.

In 2023, Gauff beat Badosa in Rome and then won their semi-final match at the China Open.

But their last meeting came early in 2025 when Badosa knocked Gauff out of the Australian Open in the quarter-finals.

Record: Seven matches, three wins, four defeats

9. Qinwen Zheng

Gauff has played Qinwen Zheng just twice so far but has yet to be defeated by the Chinese player. Their first meeting was last year in Roma with Gauff winning a first-set tiebreak before 6-1 in the second.

Their most recent match came at the WTA Finals where Gauff lost the first set but bounced back to win 2-1 in Riyadh.

Record: Two matches, two wins, zero defeats

8. Emma Navarro

Gauff may have won her first match against fellow American Emma Navarro but has failed to beat her since.

Navarro also has a knack for stopping the American’s Grand Slam runs having knocked her out of the most recent Wimbledon and US Open, both in the round of 16.

Record: Three matches, one win, two defeats

7. Elena Rybakina

Gauff has met Kazakhstani Elena Rybakina just once so far with that match coming at the 2022 Canadian Open.

Facing off in the round of 32, Rybakina did win the second set but lost the first and the third to the American.

The pair were due to meet in Dubai in 2023 but Rybakina withdrew, handing Gauff a walkover.

Record: One match, one win, zero defeats

6. Jasmine Paolini

Gauff is undefeated in her two matches so far against Italian Jasmine Paolini having first played at the Adelaide International in 2021.

A 2-1 win became a straight sets victory when they met again in Cincinnati in 2023 with Gauff winning comfortably 6-3, 6-2.

Record: Two matches, two wins, zero defeats

5. Madison Keys

In a close-run contest, it is Madison Keys who has the better record currently over her countrywoman.

The two Americans met in the semi-final of the 2022 Adelaide International 2 where Keys bested the No. 3 seed.

Gauff got her revenge at the US Open later that year before again defeating Keys in Dubai in 2023.

However, Keys is currently on a two-match winning streak against Gauff having beaten her at Eastbourne in 2023 and then in Madrid last year.

Record: Five matches, two wins, three defeats

4. Jessica Pegula

The No. 4 ranked player Jessica Pegula has so far had the beating of Gauff, winning four times in their six matches.

Gauff’s two victories came at Eastbourne and last season’s WTA Finals but Pegula beat her in Dubai, Montreal, Cancun and Berlin.

Record: Six matches, two wins, four defeats

2. Iga Swiatek

Coming up against one of the best players the women’s game has to offer, Gauff has struggled to find a way to beat Poland’s Iga Swiatek.

Starting in 2021, Swiatek won the first seven matches they played, including the 2022 Roland Garros final, before Gauff finally won in Cincinnati in 223.

Later that year though and Swiatek enacted her revenge with victory in Beijing and again at the WTA Finals before once again knocking Gauff out of Roland Garros in 2024.

Gauff however may have finally worked out a way to win having won their last two meetings including the most recent match at the 2025 United Cup.

Record: 14 matches, three wins, 11 defeats

1. Aryna Sabalenka

Just two players in the top 10 can boost a winning record against No.1 Aryna Sabalenka and Gauff is one of them

The pair first met at the 2020 Top Seed Open (the replacement for the Washington Open following the Covid pandemic) and Gauff struck first blood, winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.

The pair then traded matches from 2020 until 2024 when Sabalenka finally won back-to-back matches.

The first of those victories came in the Austria Open semi-final before another win at the same stage in Wuhan.

However, their most recent meeting went Gauff’s way with the American defeating Sabalenka in straight sets at the WTA Finals.

Record: Nine matches, five wins, four defeats
