Daniil Medvedev is buzzing about being a father

Daniil Medvedev says that becoming a father had made him the happiest he has ever been.
Medvedev and wife Darya welcomed their first child into the world back in October and he says he has been floating since.
Fatherhood appears to suit Medvedev down to the ground as he recently admitted that he could talk about it for hours.
“I’m a really happy person in my life right now with only good emotion. The experience is amazing. That’s what many, many people told me: that I can only understand this when I’ll have a baby. And now, I can completely understand. So this is a lot of fun,” said Daniil Medvedev in an interview for the Diriyah Tennis Cup exhibition.
The joy just seems to light up his face as he spoke about his daughter and his wife.
“I’m really happy about it and grateful to my wife. I can talk about this for hours and hours,” said Medvedev.
Medvedev is hopeful that the exhibition event will set him up for a good season in 2023.
He admitted that despite reaching the No 1 ranking in 2022 the season hasn’t really gone his way.
“The only thing I want to expect from myself and then to let the fans see it is the best version of me. I want to play good tennis this season. There were some moments when I was, in a way, not myself on the court. Something was missing,” said Medvedev.
“Something was not clicking, which is normal in everybody’s careers and everybody’s seasons. Sometimes, some moments are better than the others. But I want to try to be better next year. And I want to try it: to show my best level everytime,” he added.
At times Medvedev showed his best in playing some of the best defensive tennis on the ATP Tour.
However he ended the 2022 term with just two titles in the bag despite a decent 45-19 win-loss record.
His ATP 500 win at Vienna was his first tournament win since becoming a father and he was in good form in the last few tournaments of the year.
Having enjoyed a run to the 2022 Australian Open final, Medvedev has set out to impress in Melbourne.
With Russia not invited to the United Cup, Medvedev is expected to get his campaign underway in Adelaide in the second week of January.
A former Sydney titlist,Medvedev will be out to add to his 15 ATP Tour championships in Australia come Jnauary 2023.
