‘Do not take brilliance of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer for granted,’ urges fellow ATP star

John Millman has urged tennis fans to make sure they appreciate the true ‘privilege’ of watching Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic in the same era.
Djokovic beat Millman in the final of the Tokyo Open last week to claim his 76th ATP crown.
That makes it 11 times now that Djokovic has won four or more titles in a season, and Millman says there is a danger he is so good we may actually become desensitised to it.
“It sound silly to say, but I hope everyone all around the world realises just how good you are,” Millman said to Djokovic during his post-match on-court interview in Beijing.
“You’re an absolute champion and you’re the type of person that’s going to be remembered forever.
“Your legacy is continuing to build and will live on long after you finish playing.”
Djokovic has been one of the three pillars that have dominated men’s tennis for over decade now, as he, Nadal, and Federer have all but claimed a monopoly on Grand Slam titles.

Millman, though, far from being bitter about that, says it mustn’t be taken for granted what an incredible era they have provided.
“Sometimes I feel like these guys are just so good, sometimes, whether it be Novak or Rafa or whoever, we forget how good they are, what they’ve done and what Novak is doing is incredible,” he added.
“I hope people realise how good he is and not to take that for granted, because we’re not going to have these types of players forever.”
