Here, we take a look at his young career so far.
What is Holger Rune’s current ranking?
Rune is currently ranked as the world No 13, and reached a career high of world No 4 in August 2023.
That career-high ranking made him the first Danish man to place himself in the ATP’s top four.
How much prize money has Holger Rune made?
The current world No 4 has amassed $11,870,161 throughout his career, with $350,338 of that arriving in 2025.
Who are Holger Rune’s sponsors?
Rune is sponsored by the clothing brand Nike and wears the brand’s Air Zoom Vapor Pro tennis shoes in competition.
The Dane is also sponsored by French racket company Babolat, and endorses the Pure Aero 98 racket with a 16×20 string pattern.
Other sponsors include STATE energy drinks, Shamballa Jewels, and PurePower.
What are Holger Rune’s biggest victories?
Rune’s biggest title was a Masters 1000 title at Paris-Bercy in 2022.
The world No 4 defeated Novak Djokovic 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the final, from a break-down in the deciding set, to lift his maiden Masters 1000 title.
In doing so, the Dane became the first ATP player to defeat five top 10 players at an event other than the Nitto ATP Finals.
Other titles include two victories at the ATP 500 in Munich and one trophy lift at the ATP 250 event in Stockholm.
Rune has reached the quarter-finals of Roland Garros on two occasions (2022 and 2023) and the same stage at Wimbledon (2023).

What do they say about Holger Rune?
Renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who has previously coached Rune, stated: “First he had an incredible belief in his ability to reach his dreams, which is not something very common because a lot of players are full of doubt and they don’t dare dreaming really and believing that they can do it.
“He believed 100 per cent. Second, he was all about tennis. He’s coming to the tennis, he’s doing all the things and whenever he has free time he watches tennis.
“He thinks tennis, he’s really obsessed with the sport and I think that’s what makes the greats great and all the greats we all know, they are the same. They are really, really passionate.”
Mats Wilander has also said: “He’s very mature in terms of the tactics in a tennis match, mentally, he’s very mature, but I feel like he might be losing his concentration here and there.
“But then I’m comparing him with Carlos Alcaraz who doesn’t seem to lose concentration that much. So Rune is going to be a great player one day.
“He’s already really good and I think he’s going to win Grand Slam tournaments because he’s got this ability to switch on and switch off a little bit – and he comes back and plays his best tennis nearly always when it means the most.”
