Iga Swiatek is the most successful player of her generation, and she will be looking to add to her five Grand Slam titles in 2025.

The former world No 1 is still searching for her best form this season, having amassed a 21-6 record to date.

Swiatek has not reached a final at the 10 tournaments she has played since winning her fourth French Open title in June last year.

Here is a guide to Swiatek’s career so far and a look at what’s to come.

WHAT IS SWIATEK’S RANKING?

The 23-year-old has occupied second position in the WTA Rankings since she lost top spot to her rival Aryna Sabalenka in October.

Swiatek has spent 125 weeks as the world No 1, which is the seventh-highest total in WTA history.

SWIATEK’S CAREER PRIZE MONEY AND SPONSORS

WHEN IS SWIATEK’S NEXT TOURNAMENT?

Swiatek will next feature at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, which will be held from April 14-21. She is a three-time champion at the WTA 500 tournament, which is played on indoor clay.

WHAT HAS SWIATEK WON?

Swiatek has won 22 WTA Tour singles titles and holds an outstanding 22-4 record in finals.

The 23-year-old’s maiden title came in stunning fashion: she won the 2020 French Open as an unseeded player without dropping a set and losing just 28 games.

She has added further Roland Garros crowns in 2022, 2023 and 2024, while she won her only major outside the French Open to date at the 2022 US Open.

Swiatek was also a WTA Finals champion in 2023, while she has secured 10 WTA 1000 titles, five 500 titles and one 250. 12 of her titles have been at hard-court events, while 10 have come on clay.

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT SWIATEK

Former world No 1 Chris Evert, who won a women’s record seven French Open titles: “I’m worried about it (Swiatek breaking my record) every day. When I put my head under the pillow I’m worried about Iga.

“I think Iga will end up on double digits. I don’t just think she will beat my record here. I think it’s double digits.”

Former world No 1 and seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander: “Four Roland Garros titles, she’s only 23, I think she can win another five, six, seven, because of her style it’s very modern, she plays with a lot of spin and a fierce racket speed, that’s why she’s nearly unbeatable here.”

Current world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka: “I think her movement is incredible. You always know that you have to build the point and you have to finish the point. It’s not going to be an easy point anyway. You have to be really there 100%.

“I think that stays in the back of my mind, and that’s why sometimes I try to overhit balls, knowing she’s going to get to it.”
