Jannik Sinner is at the top of the tennis world, but he is still looking to find another gear.

The Italian is heading into the final weeks of the season with high hopes after a year that has seen him win his first two Grand Slam titles and rise to the top of the ATP Rankings for the first time.

He is also revelling in a cash windfall after collecting an eye-watering $6million following his win at the Six Kings Slam exhibition event in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Sinner remodelled serve has taken his game to the next level, while the confidence he displays with his big hitting from the baseline is too much for almost every opponent to deal with.

Yet the best are always looking for more and the Functional Tennis Instagram page has posted images of Sinner practising with new rackets in Monte Carlo.

Sinner’s success has come with the Head TGT racket, but he has been given a chance to test out some of the other frames in the Head collection.

One of them is believed to have been a version of the racket Djokovic has used for most of his professional career.

While Djokovic’s racket is designed and built specifically for his own needs and is not on sale, Sinner appeared to be wielding a racket that looked similar to the frame the Serbian legend uses during a practice session in the south of France.

Major racket changes for top players are unusual, with the Babolat racket Rafael Nadal used only having minor tweaks to its make-up over the course of his career.

As for Roger Federer, well the Swiss legend highlighted how significant a racket change can be when he burst back into winning form after switching to a bigger frame in 2018, while Djokovic has spoken about the tweaks he has made to his Head frame down the years.

It seems unlikely that Sinner would consider a racket change at a time when he is dominating the men’s game alongside his great rival Carlos Alcaraz, but he is clearly keen to find any extra edge to take his game to the next level.

Dominic Thiem claims ‘situation didn’t change’ in Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz dominance verdict

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are ’10 per-cent’ better than Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

“I have to improve a couple of things, which already me and my coach in the US Open swing needed to improve,” said Sinner earlier this year. “We worked on that and also the physical shape. We tried to improve.

“We are working a lot on the serve. We changed a couple of things there,” Sinner said. “Obviously, the motion I have now is slightly different and new, so I have to get used to it.

“I don’t want to put pressure on myself. I’m living a very positive moment, winning a lot of matches, I just try to keep going like this.

“In my mind, I know that I can and have to improve if I want to win more.

“I am searching for new opportunities and I feel like every tournament I play, there can be a good opportunity trying to show that my level has raised.”

Sinner has already blown away most of the opposition in men’s tennis over the last year, but he is aiming for even more heading into 2025.
