A $9.75 million Manhattan apartment formerly owned by John McEnroe has been placed the market.

With Central Park views in one of the city’s most prominent co-op buildings the property will doubtless attract plenty of offers.

The residence, which is located at the Beresford on Central Park West between West 81st and West 82nd streets, combines two units—one of which was previously owned by tennis legend and TV personality John McEnroe—into “a large corner residence, facing north and west with wonderful views of the lush foliage of Central Park,” according to Daniel Douglas of Corcoran. He listed the combined unit alongside colleague Eileen A LaMorte earlier this month.

“I like to call the scale of its rooms ‘approachable grandeur’ as they are grand, but livable spaces,” Douglas said. “Any bigger would be too much.”

According to PropertyShark records, McEnroe sold his co-op in the building in 2013 for $3.1 million. The nearby unit sold for $3.8 million the same year. The current owners did not reply promptly to a request for comment.

According to listing images, the fourth-floor flat features a semi-private lift landing that leads to a central gallery and a great room with a fireplace overlooking the park, a formal dining room and a spacious eat-in kitchen, as well as the library, which is lined with built-ins.

With a hooded Viking 36-inch range, a six-foot SubZero refrigerator freezer, and two Miele industrial dishwashers, as well as lots of storage, the kitchen is fit for a chef.

According to the description, two bedroom suites, including the master, enjoy park views, while the other two overlook West 82nd Street and share a bathroom.

The Upper West Side landmark, designed by architect Emery Roth in 1929 and distinguished by its two octagonal towers, has drawn luminaries for almost 100 years. According to Corcoran, the property has also housed legendary Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown, soprano Beverly Sills, singer Diana Ross and journalist Diane Sawyer. Jerry Seinfeld lives on the 19th floor, while former Yankee Alex Rodriguez just paid $9.9 million for an apartment there.

“What’s great about the Beresford is that it’s a building full of intellectuals and creatives of all stripes—from Fortune 500 CEOs to the creator of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster,” Douglas said. “While it’s undoubtedly a prestigious address, designed by the great Emery Roth, at the same time it’s open-minded and not stuffy. The Beresford is truly a building for regular people, just some of them happen to be celebrities.”
