Some good news from Juan Martin del Potro as he gives update on injury
Juan Martin del Potro has given a positive update on his latest injury, saying he is expected to return to the on-court training soon.
The former US Open champion is currently recovering from the fractured knee cap injury that he sustained during the Shanghai Masters in October.
He made a brief comeback at the Delray Beach Open in February before suffering a fresh setback with reports suggesting he could be out of action for up to six months as he might require knee surgery.
However, he revealed via Twitter that has been advised to continue with his current treatment and will return to training in the near future.
“This week I had multiple tests done on my knee in Barcelona by Dr. Ángel Cotorro and after reviewing my results he advised me to continue with my current treatment,” he wrote.
“He is satisfied with my progress and soon I will be back on court training.”
