Jannik Sinner’s US Open title run has helped him to finish ahead of Carlos Alcaraz in terms of most Grand Slam match wins in 2024.

The Italian followed up his Australian Open trophy at the beginning of the year with the crown at Flushing Meadows as he defeated Taylor Fritz in the final in New York.

As per usual, a maximum of 28 wins were on offer across four Grand Slams as players usually require seven wins for title runs at each of the Australian Open, French Open, US Open and Wimbledon.

Players with the most Grand Slam match wins in 2024:

6. Novak Djokovic – 16

Novak Djokovic came within one win of a perfect 28 wins in 2023 as he won the Australian Open, French Open and US Open with his only blip coming at Wimbledon when he finished runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz.

However, his fortunes could not be more different this year as he failed to win a Grand Slam as he lost in the semi-final of the Australian Open before withdrawing from his French Open quarter-final match due to injury.

He then finished runner-up to Alcaraz at Wimbledon before losing in the second round at the US Open.

5. Taylor Fritz – 17

Taylor Fritz has enjoyed his best Grand Slam season as he reached two quarter-finals in the same season for the first time in his career with runs to the last eight at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

But his best came at his home major, the US Open, as he reached his maiden Grand Slam final before going down in straight sets against Sinner.

He also notched up four wins at the US Open as he fell in the quarter-final and picked up three wins at Roland Garros with a run to the fourth round.

Alexander Zverev also has an 18-4 Grand Slam record for 2024 with a runners-up finish at Roland Garros, a semi-final appearance at Melbourne Park, a quarter-final run at the US Open and a fourth-round exit from Wimbledon.

2. Carlos Alcaraz – 19

Carlos Alcaraz started the US Open with an 18-1 win as he surged to the top after winning the French Open and Wimbledon, but he managed only one win at Flushing Meadows to finish with a 19-2 record.

Alcaraz also reached the quarter-final at the Australian Open.

Still an improvement on his 17–2 record from 2023.
