Novak Djokovic confirms he will skip Paris Masters, but commits to Vienna Open and ATP Finals

There will be no potential Novak Djokovic-Rafael Nadal rematch at the Paris Masters after the world No 1 confirmed he won’t play in the ATP Masters 1000 event.
Djokovic revealed to Serbian media on Wednesday that he won’t feature at Paris-Bercy with it very much a strategic move as he “can’t add to my points tally”.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion is the defending champion, but due to tweak to the ATP Rankings points system because of the coronavirus, players’ best 18 results over a 22-month period will count.

It means Djokovic can’t earn any points, but he has signed up for next week’s Vienna Open where up to 500 ranking points are up for grabs as well as the ATP Finals in London.
“I won’t play in Paris as I can’t add to my points tally but I will go to Vienna and London,” he told Belgade daily Sportski Zurnal.
“I can win up to 500 points in Vienna as I didn’t play there last year and there are also a lot of points available in London.”
Nadal, who beat Djokovic in the French Open final a fortnight ago, confirmed earlier this week that he will return to action at the Paris Masters, which starts on November 2.
