Novak Djokovic stunned in Canada but Rafael Nadal keeps finding ways to win
Novak Djokovic has been dumped out of the Rogers Cup by Greek teen sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas, but Rafael Nadal powers on.
The Serb, who won his 13th Grand Slam title last month at Wimbledon, came into the Canadian Open with high hopes, but sank to a 6-3 6-7 6-3 defeat.
“I feel very proud for me, myself, and my country. I’m putting Greece more deep into the map of tennis,” Tsitsipas said.
“I’m pretty sure I’m making my family proud, all of those people that are watching, my coach, my father.
“It was a very emotional win. I’ve never felt so many emotions after a victory.”
“I really want to do well,” Djokovic said. “Losing in this kind of tournament, it’s not something I don’t care about.
“It really frustrates me. But I have to accept it, deal with it, and move on.”
“I’m going to get into Cincinnati, the only [Masters] 1000 event that I didn’t win in my career, and hopefully I can have a good tournament,” Djokovic said.

“I just played not that great, especially from the baseline. I didn’t return well. So all in all, it wasn’t that great of a match.
“You have those days, and better earlier than later in this series.”
World number one Rafael Nadal is safely through though after heovercame problems with his serve to best Stan Wawrinka 7-5 7-6.
“It was a good match. Of course, a very positive victory for me against a very tough opponent. Happy to see Stan playing that well again,” Nadal said. ]
“So I am very pleased. That’s what I needed, a match like this to be a little bit more confident and I did it.”
Nadal will now face Marin Cilic, who beat Diego Schwartzman 6-3 6-2.
Tsitspias, meanwhile, will take on Alexander Zverev inthe next round after the defending champion dominated Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-2.
“I feel physically pretty well. I feel like I’m playing well,” Zverev said. “I get into a rhythm of playing matches one after another, and right now, I’m in that rhythm.”
The other two quarter-finals will see Kevin Anderson face Grigor Dimitrov and Karen Khachanov play Robin Haase.
