Glowing praise for Emma Raducanu from Andy Murray as Scot says ‘I have a lot of belief in her potential’

She continued her meteoric rise with a run to the final in Chicago, but there is more to come from Emma Raducanu with former world No 1 Andy Murray confident she will “continue to move up the rankings”.
Following her breakthrough performance at Wimbledon this year where she reached the fourth round, teenager Raducanu impressed again at the WTA Chicago 125 tournament last week as she finished runner-up to Clara Tauson, going down 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
Her results in the US have helped her to reach a career-high of No 150 in the WTA Rankings.

Murray, who has practised with the 18-year-old at Roehampton back in the United Kingdom, certainly gave a glowing reference of Raducanu when he was asked about the youngster.
“Lots of people in British tennis have obviously got very high hopes for her,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“I’ve seen her around training and I’ve hit with her myself. I have a lot of belief in her game and her potential. Mentally, I think she is in a very good place.
“I think she’s really switched on and is really into her tennis. She’s certainly heading in the right direction and she will certainly continue to move up the rankings.”
Raducanu will next be in action during the US Open qualifiers this week.
