Eye-watering ticket prices for Rafael Nadal vs Carlos Alcaraz Las Vegas showdown are revealed
Rafael Nadal has vowed to do all he can to be fit to take part in his match against fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz on March 3, with tickets settling out fast for the exhibition event in Las Vegas.
Nadal pulled out of his planned comeback event in Qatar next week and confirmed in his statement that he is keen to ensure he is fit for the match against Alcaraz and then the Indian Wells Masters event that gets underway shortly.
Netflix are streaming the Nadal vs Alcaraz match and if it proves to be successful for the streaming service, it will spark speculation that they will get more involved in broadcasting live tennis in the future.
The Netflix show Break Point took viewers behind the scenes on the ATP and WTA Tours and now they are looking to expand their tennis offering with this match between Nadal and Alcaraz.
Yet fans looking to attend the exhibition contest are being asked to pay huge prices to catch a glimpse of the two stars in the flesh.
Court-side seats are all but sold out at $3,000 each and a seat just to sit in the lower tier of the stand to watch the action will set you back $500.
Tickets in the second tier of the stands are on offer for $250, with a sell-out edging closer as most seats have now been sold.
The pricing structure for this exhibition event is put into perspective when it is compared to the prices for tickets at this summer’s prestigious Wimbledon Championships, with tickets for the opening two days on Centre Court being sold by official outlets for £80, which equates to around $100.

“I’m honoured and so happy to be sharing the court with Rafa in Las Vegas,” Wimbledon champion Alcaraz told Netflix. “He’s an all-time great, of course, and his records and achievements speak for themselves.”
“I’m very excited for my first visit to Las Vegas,” Nadal told Netflix. “I’m also very excited to be playing with my fellow countryman Carlos Alcaraz. I am sure it will be a fantastic night of tennis.”
Additional players and matchups will be announced at a later date, promising some serious energy on the court.
Nadal’s latest comeback will now come in this exhibition event after he decided to withdraw from next week’s Qatar Open.
The Spaniard confessed that he had been feeling some discomfort in recent days and this led to suggestions that he may skip the tournament in Doha, with that rumour now confirmed.
“I would have loved to play in Doha, where the tournament team, as well as the amazing Qatar fans, have always supported me greatly,” said Nadal in a social media post.
“Unfortunately I am not ready to compete and I won’t be able to come to Doha where I really wanted to be and play again after that unforgettable win in 2014.
“I will focus on keep working to be ready for the exhibition in Las Vegas and the amazing Indian Wells tournament.”
Nadal has earlier spoken about his desire to play at ATP Tour event at Indian Wells, as he is eager to make what he feels may be a final appearance at the tournament in California.
