Roberto Bautista Agut slams quarantine restrictions saying ‘it’s like being in jail, but with WiFi’

World No 13 Roberto Bautista Agut has lashed out at the strict quarantine restrictions in Australia, comparing it to prison and saying “it’s a complete disaster”.
Seventy-two players have been confined to their hotel rooms after a handful of people tested positive for coronavirus shortly after landing in Melbourne.
Some have taken to social media to complain about the food, small hotel rooms and their inability to train. World No 1 Novak Djokovic even requested that changes be to the conditions, but authorities refused to change their stance.

“It’s like being in the jail. It’s the same, it’s the same with WiFi,” he told Israel’s Sport 5. “These people have no idea about tennis, about practice courts, no idea about anything.
“It’s a complete disaster because of that, because of the control of everything.”
He added: “It’s not Tennis Australia, it’s the people from the government.
“You can work in the room but it’s not the same. I feel very, very tight and I cannot imagine staying two weeks like this. It’s really, really tough. I will have to work a lot mentally and be patient.”
