‘Roger Federer CAN win another Grand Slam, but I don’t think he will,’ says Stan Wawrinka

Stan Wawrinka believes that compatriot Roger Federer is capable of winning another Grand Slam title – but he doesn’t think he will.
Federer holds the record for the most career Grand Slams with 20, but the last of those came over two years ago at the 2018 Australian Open.
Wawrinka was doing a live web-chat broadcast on social media with ATP rival and friend Benoit Paire, when he was asked by the Frenchman is he believes Federer’s Grand Slam winning days are behind him.
“Of course, he is capable of winning another Slam,” Wawrinka told Paire.
“There’s a difference between not being able to win and not doing anything.
“I think Roger Federer can [win another Grand Slam] but I don’t think he will.
“But, of course, he missed match points in Wimbledon.
“He’s was in the semi-finals in Australia this year, and he’s making deep runs in every tournament he plays.
“So, he’s capable of winning more because he has done it before.”
Federer is currently recovering from minor knee surgery but was expected to be back for grass court season before the coronavirus crisis wiped it out.
