Stan Wawrinka gives fitness update as he confirms ‘small procedure’ on niggling injury

Three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka will be sidelined “for a few weeks” after opting to have surgery on a troublesome foot injury.
The world No 21 was last in action at the Qatar Open at the beginning of March and he opted to withdraw from the Dubai Tennis Championships and Miami Open due to fatigue.
He has since undergone an operation on the niggling injury in his left foot.
Hey guys, just wanted to update you . After having some problems in my left foot for a while, I have decided to do a small procedure 💉🔬🔪🦶 on it. Everything went well 🙏🏼. I will be out for a few weeks but can’t wait to start practicing again soon 🏃🏻💪🏻 🎾🧡 pic.twitter.com/5PZre7kluA
