WATCH: Stefanos Tsitsipas’ incredible diving effort to secure a point at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters

With the Monte-Carlo Masters underway, let’s look back at one of the most exciting shots seen in the tournament by no other than reigning champion Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek God has most certainly rubberstamped his name into this tournament with his impressive two consecutive titles. The star will undoubtedly be looking to add to his tally with a third title at the ongoing Monte-Carlo Masters.
Let’s take a look back to last year’s Monte-Carlo Masters, where the Greek star gave us a spectacular shot in the quarter-final against Italian Diego Schwartzman.
The pair were coming into the last game of their match, with both having won a set. With the semi-finals in touching distance, both stars put up a valiant effort, with the match going to Tsitsippas after a score of 2-6, 7-6, 4-6.
At only seven seconds into the video, we see Tsitsipas deliver an incredible piece of improvisation, with a spectacular diving effort to win the point and the fans’ hearts. He truly showed the world why he owns this tournament. Tsitsipas then went on to win the next and last point to earn himself a well-deserved spot in the semi-final.
The commentator’s reaction says it all “Oh, no way! No way has he made that… Incredible tennis from the defending champion.” We can undoubtedly side with the commentator, it was a brilliant display from the Greek God; what a way to win a point.

Continue on to 30 seconds into the video to see just how outrageous the shot truly was, with an excellent close-up to catch the star’s commitment.
The commentator was just as stunned as the viewers and couldn’t believe what she had just witnessed. “Oh, can you believe it! How about the commitment on that and the touch to just soften it as much as he did.” An excellent display of commitment from Tsitsipas as he cushions the ball over the net and out of reach of his opponent.
A shot out of this world that truly gives him the very well-deserved name-the Greek God.
Only a few players are willing to make the extra commitment to see out a match like Tsitsipas, so it is always enjoyable to see a star give their complete devotion towards their loved sport.
An exciting moment to have witnessed. Hopefully, we will see the Greek star come up with another spectacular effort to amaze the crowd at the undergoing Monte-Carlo Masters
