Stefanos Tsitsipas on Paula Badosa relationship: ‘I am so lucky she is in my life. We laugh, we cry…’
Stefanos Tsitsipas has declared that his relationship with Paula Badosa is the “best thing that could have happened to me”, adding that he hopes they are able to realise their dreams together.
On the back of rumours that they were romantically involved after Badosa was spotted during one of Tsitsipas matches at the French Open in May, the duo opted to go public with their relationship.
Not only did they create a joint Spotify playlist with similar profile pictures, but they also have a joint-Instagram account called “Tsitsidosa” and they are happy to share pictures of their lives away from the court.
They were of course the talk of the town after news about their relationship emerged, but Tsitsipas is very much loved-up.
“It is the best thing that could have happened to me,” he told Spanish publication AS during an interview. “It may not be easy at first because of the media interest and what it entails, because people talk. But I try not to pay attention. It is inevitable, it will happen.
“It can take time to adjust, but now it’s really nice to get used to something like that, because it’s never happened before. She is the right person.”

Tsitsipas has not had much success on court since the relationship hit the headlines as he lost in the quarter-final of the French Open, lost his opener at the Stuttgart Open, lost in the second round of the Halle Open and made another early exit from the Mallorca Championships on Wednesday.
Badosa, meanwhile, is currently recovering from a back stress fracture, but together they are learning from each other.
Asked what he likes about the 25-year-old as a tennis player, the Greek replied: “I admire her a lot. She is my favourite player. She strikes me as a very interesting personality. Not just because of how she looks, but also because of what she has inside of her,” he said.
“When she plays, I see myself. There are many things that I see her do on the court that I would also do. It’s very rare that there’s a player on the other side of the circuit that I can talk about like that.
“She inspires me. I hope to inspire you too. She makes me love tennis more. She motivates me to be better. She may not have won many matches in recent weeks, but it’s not her fault. We talk about it. When I’m on the track, it’s my responsibility.
“She is the most understanding person I have ever been around. She wants the best for me. I am so lucky that she is in my life… We laugh, we cry, we celebrate, we are more together. I hope we can create dreams, conquer them together. Because that’s something so beautiful… I want this to be a beautiful life with beautiful memories. Sometimes sad too, you can’t help them. It’s part of the journey, a long journey to experience it all.”
