WATCH: Drop shot of the year? Take a bow Benoit Paire

Benoit Paire has not been enjoying life on the tennis tour of late, but he served up a magical moment in his match against Jozef Kovalik in Gstaad.
The colourful Frenchman has not been enjoying life inside the bubbles that have been set up around tournaments in recent months and has admitted he would rather get out tournaments quickly to escape from the strict guidelines in place to stop the spread of Covid-19.
“I lost in the first round, it’s better, I will be able to get out of the bubble fairly quickly and enjoy a few days before Miami,” Paire told L’Equipe in an interview after a defeat in May.
“Tennis is not my priority at the moment. Getting out of the bubble is the only goal I have at every tournament.”
Despite his reluctance to play, this showman is still serving up some magical moments and his radically sliced (and intentional) drop shot volley that bounced back over his side of the net is certain to be on the highlights reel as a contender for shot of the year.

Paire might not be enjoying life on the ATP Tour, but we are loving moments like this.
