In case you missed this story from the weekend, 1976 French Open winner Sue Barker is listed as Australian on the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen. Something that was spotted/picked up only on Saturday.
Don’t worry Sue, the errors will be fixed, according to The Independent.
The French Open-Wimbledon double is one of the most difficult feats to achieve in tennis, but Pat Cash is tipping fellow Australian Ashleigh Barty to pull it off.
“She has a grass-court game – clay is her worst surface so it looks pretty good for her!” he is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying.
“She’s a great athlete, lightning quick and very balanced, so I think she will be a real threat at Wimbledon and the next few Slams.”
A bit of a stretch again from Express Sport as their headline states “Roger Federer held secret retirement talks as crucial hint revealed”.
Quote from tournament director Ralf Weber in westfalen-blatt.de: “He once told me that he will make that dependent on his health and physical shape.
“As long as Roger feels that he can win titles and beat the big ones, I do not think he will stop overnight.
“That’s why I think he’ll be back in 2020, but maybe in 2021.”
