Italian tennis chief Angelo Binaghi has not given up hope of luring Roger Federer to play in the Internazionali BNL d’Italia before he retires.

If you read our feature at the top, you will know that Federer is making his return to clay this year, but he isn’t expected to play at the Italian Open.

Binaghi, though, is quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by Express Sport: “We keep our fingers crossed.

“This is the only big tournament that Federer has not won.”
