Tennis Today: Miami Open release Nick Kyrgios statement, and Roger Federer is ‘late’
In Tennis Today, everyone seems to be angry about something or other that doesn’t actually matter which is, of course, all absolutely brilliant for us.

It’s great news for those who love Nick Kyrgios, and perhaps even better news for those who don’t.
He had an eventful Monday, dealing with a fan who he claims called him ‘a d***’and actually producing an underarm ace, which you can watch here.
Kyrgios was also pretty brilliant in his match against Dusan Lajovic, and we have a video of the highlights for you to enjoy.

What’s in the news
Well, customarily, Nick Kyrgios is in the news, and today is no different.
After the Australian got himself involved in a fan altercation on Monday, the Miami Open have released an official statement confirming that the fan in question was indeed forcibly removed.
“During the second set of Sunday evening’s match between Nick Kyrgios and Dusan Lajovic, a fan seated behind the baseline began making inappropriate comments towards Mr. Kyrgios, which on several occasions interrupted play and provoked a reaction from the player and the crowd,” the statement said.
“Ushers and Hard Rock Stadium security responded quickly and asked the fan to leave the stadium.
“Upon refusal to leave, local law enforcement officers were summoned and escorted the man in question from the tournament site.”
In other ‘news’, and we use the term deliberately loosely as it relates to our strange friends at the Express, Roger Federer was ‘late’ for his post-match press duties yesterday.
“[I was] Just watching a little bit of my opponents,” explained Federer, who was understandably a little bemused at having his time management analysed.
“I was just hanging with friends, as well.”
So, as the Express actually put it… ‘his fans needn’t be concerned’.
