Andy Murray grew up in Dunblane, Scotland, where he began playing tennis at age three.
Growing up, the Briton excelled in both tennis and football/soccer but chose to make a career out of tennis and moved to Barcelona at 15 to train.
He was born with a bipartite Patella in his right knee, which is a condition that causes the bones in the kneecap to remain separated instead of being joined. This has created many setbacks in his career, as he is known for going through multiple knee surgeries.
The 35-year-old is a massive fan of pizza and ice cream and once stated that he ate pizza before a Wimbledon match when he was younger.
Murray confessed in an interview that he was offered to have a trial with the Glasgow Rangers FC, a Scottish club. However, the Briton turned it down, saying he wanted to focus on tennis.
The star is not the only professional athlete in his family. His brother, Jaime Murray, is also a professional tennis player, and he is currently ranked world No. 20 in the Men’s Doubles.
