Watch Nottingham Open final free online as Andy Murray eyes another rankings boost
Andy Murray will be looking to win his second consecutive ATP Challenger Tour trophy and third second-tier title of the season when he takes on Arthur Cazaux in the Nottingham Open final on Sunday.
Just a week after winning the Surbiton Trophy to go with the Open Aix Provence title he won at the beginning of May, Murray finds himself in another final.
The top seed defeated Nuno Borges 6-3, 6-2 to win his ninth match in a row and book his spot in the showpiece match where he will take on qualifier Cazaux after the Frenchman upset fifth seed Dominik Koepfer 7-5, 6-2.
“I’ve won against three or four top-100 players in this run. There’s been some good wins against experienced grass-court players,” the three-time Grand Slam winner said after his latest win.
“For me physically and mentally to get used to being in this situation more again has been really helpful. Now it’s up to me to try and carry that on at the higher level over the next few weeks.”
Up next is a youngster though with 20-year-old Cazaux ranked No 181 in the world.
Murray added: “I’ve played a lot of youngsters recently and it’s always tough. We practised with each other recently so hopefully not too many surprises.”
Can Andy Murray still be seeded for Wimbledon?
Murray’s recent run of form has seen him rise to No 40 in the Live ATP Rankings and victory on Sunday could see him move up another two spots to No 38 with 1,030 points.
The big aim of course is to be seeded for Wimbledon and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina from Spain currently occupies the final seeding position of 32. The Dutchman has 1,115 points.
It means there will be a lot on the spell when Murray and several other top stars take part in the ATP 500 Queen’s Club Championship next week.

Murray, of course, didn’t play the final two weeks before Wimbledon last year due to injury so he doesn’t have any points to defend and any wins will give his ranking points a boost and a possible seeding position for this year’s grass-court Grand Slam.
