WATCH: Serena Williams on being left speechless by Ons Jabeur: ‘Oh my goodness, I would never do that’

Their burgeoning partnership got off to flourishing start at the Eastbourne International, but Serena Williams admits she was left stunned by one of Ons Jabeur’s shots.
Following her decision to accept a wildcard entry for Wimbledon, Williams needed to get some mileage under her belt ahead of the grass-court Grand Slam and opted to use the WTA 500 event at Devonshire Park as a warm-up.
Williams decided to get in touch with Jabeur to play in the doubles as the Tunisian “has always been so sweet to me on the Tour so I was like ‘it would be fun to play'”.
And they had a lot of “fun” on the court on Tuesday during their 2-6, 6-3 (13-11) victory over Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes Tormo.

Jabeur admitted after the match: “I was a little bit nervous before, playing with such a legend, but she made me really good on the court, and even when I made mistakes, she’d keep encouraging me.”
At one point the Tunisian decided to play a cheeky drop shot.
“I am really happy we played together. It was fun and that drop shot at the end…” Jabeur said.
The drop shot in question.
Wait for it…

But Serena interrupted her partner, saying: “Oh my goodness, I would never do that. Never.”
Jabeur finished up: “Thank you guys! This is the shortest press conference I ever did, but I’m enjoying being next to Serena so I’m glad.”
