WTA Rankings: Iga Swiatek maintains healthy lead, Danielle Collins +2 Madison Keys +4, Peyton Stearns +19
There were minimal changes in the top 20 of the WTA Rankings with Iga Swiatek still comfortable at the top, but a couple of American players have had a nice rankings boost ahead of the French Open.
Four-time Grand Slam winner Swiatek started her 105th week at No 1 on Monday and she will remain at the top after the French Open as she her 3,557-point lead over Aryna Sabalenka remains intact as the top players didn’t compete last week.
Despite being the defending champion at Roland Garros, the Pole is assured of staying at No 1 after the tournament as Sabalenka will drop 770 points after reaching the semi-final last year.
Swiatek remains at No 9 in the all-time list for most weeks spent at No 1, but she is now just 12 weeks behind Justine Henin in eighth place and she could draw level with the Belgian’s 112 weeks by mid-August.

Former Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins was the highest-ranked player in action ahead of the French Open and her runners-up trophy at the Internationaux de Strasbourg has resulted in a return to the top 10.
Collins is now just a couple of places away from her career-high No 7 she achieved in 2022 and with only 10 points to defend in Paris she could well climb a few more places in the rankings.
It is a similar story for fellow American Madison Keys, who defeated Collins in the Strasbourg final, as she climbed four places to No 12. Keys’ best is also seventh and she will drop only 45 points at Roland Garros.
Outside the top 20, Anhelina Kalinia is up eight places to No 48 and Mayar Sheriff jumped 13 places to No 53.
But Peyton Stearns was the big rankings winner as she surged 19 places to No 62 – still below her career-high of No 43 – after winning her maiden title at the Morocco Open. The 22-year-old American defeated Sheriff 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
There is a big drop coming for Karolina Muchova after the French Open as last year’s runner-up is set to slump out of the top 20 as she is unable to play in Paris this year due to injury.
