WTA Rankings Race To Riyadh: Jessica Pegula & Elena Rybakina battling; Lois Boisson & Emma Raducanu climb
Four players in the top 14 of the WTA Race To Riyadh Rankings are in action this week and have the opportunity to gain ground on qualification rivals.
Jessica Pegula, Elena Rybakina, Emma Navarro and Clara Tauson are all competing at the Citi DC Open, a WTA 500 tournament in Washington.
The eight women who earn the most ranking points in the 2025 season will qualify for the WTA Finals, which will be staged in Riyadh from November 1 to 8. Coco Gauff in the reigning WTA Finals champion, having secured a record $4.8 million payout for winning last year’s event.
If a current-year Grand Slam winner finishes between ninth and 20th in the Race, they will take the eighth and final qualification spot.
The players who finish ninth and 10th will travel to Saudi Arabia as alternates and have the chance to replace any qualifiers who withdraw.
Pegula is seventh in the Race on 3,301 points and is in a strong position with a 565-point lead over Jasmine Paolini in eighth.
Rybakina, who currently sits ninth on 2,537 points, is 199 points adrift of Paolini.
Navarro is 560 points behind Paolini in 12th place with 2,176 points, while Tauson is 194 points further back in 14th.

Emma Raducanu has climbed into the top 30 of the Race Rankings after her impressive opening round win over Marta Kostyuk in Washington. The 22-year-old Brit is up four places to 29th in the Live Race on 1,045 points.
Lois Boisson has only played four WTA Tour events in 2025, but she surged 14 spots to 28th in the Race after winning her maiden career title at the 250 in Hamburg last week. The 22-year-old made a stunning run to the semi-finals of the 2025 French Open as a wildcard.
Both Raducanu and Boisson would need to have an extremely strong finish to the season to have any chance of qualifying for the WTA Finals.
World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka booked her place in Riyadh with her run to the Wimbledon semi-finals as she surpassed the qualification cut of 6,991 points.
