Johnny Nicholson watched some tennis last weekend and something annoyed him. Naturally, that meant an absolutely killer article for you people to enjoy. It’s a must-read.
We continued out 2018 report cards by taking a closer look at Kevin Anderson’s season. Can you have a breakthrough season at the age of 32? Well, it seems so.
Roger Federer’s future and apparent decline are a big talking point, and now Rafael Nadal’s camp have made a huge prediction about the 37-year-old. Absolutely no mind-games going on there, we are sure…
And they might not want to be all that smug anyway, says one former world number one who believes both Nadal and Federer have it all to prove once again next season.
What’s in the news
The Brisbane International has confirmed its field and it promises to provide a star-studded opening to the 2019 season.
Rafael Nadal heads the line-up and will be the top seed – providing he is able to recover from his ankle injury in time.
Andy Murray will also take part, along with fellow-Brit Kyle Edmund.
Kei Nishikori, Daniil Medvedev, Milos Raonic, and Grigor Dimitrov are also all confirmed in a strong men’s singles line-up.
Nock Kyrgios, Alex De Minaur, and John Millman will provide solid home-crowd favourites too.
The women’s singles competition will be headlined by Naomi Osaka and Sloane Stephens.
Elina Svitolina, Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Kiki Bertens, and Anastasija Sevastova will also take part.
The competition is scheduled to run between December 31st and January 6th.
