In Tennis Today, we know you are just here for the naked Roger Federer story.
What’s on the site
Novak Djokovic, like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, returned to Grand Slam-winning form after a long injury lay-off and Isaac Seelochan hopes Andy Murray will follow in the Serb’s footsteps.
Now that Wimbledon 2018 is done and dusted, we look at the winners and losers.
Some want change when it comes to fifth-set tie-breakers for men and third-set tie-breakers for women, and Australian Open officials will seek the view of players for the 2020 tournament.
What’s in the news
“Djokovic can win the next five Grand Slams” is a pretty big call from Richard Krajicek.
The Dutchman told Omnisport – via Express Sport: “For me already he’s the title favourite, if he doesn’t get injured, for the US Open.”
He also feels Nadal can get to Roger Federer’s 20 Grand Slam titles should Djokovic fail to dominate.
“I think he can do that… but if Novak comes back at his best, I remember those couple of years Nadal didn’t have a chance against Novak so I think that’s also important – it depends what happens with Novak.”
Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou is another who believes that Djokovic can “dominate again”.
“Novak is in good physical shape and can play for a few more years. He dominated when Rafa and Roger played their best tennis, so he can dominate again,” he told BBC Sport.
We know you are just here for the naked Roger Federer story so here goes. By the way, the Federer picture at the top is the closest we came to a naked picture.
Paralympic gold medallist Dylan Alcott recalled “the memorable moment he met his idol Roger Federer NAKED in a locker room” on Andrew Denton’s Interview – via the Daily Mail.
“I got to play my first Australian Open and I went into the locker room… I put my tennis bag in (the locker), I get my racquet out and then standing there, completely naked, basically with his penis on my shoulder, is Roger Federer!”
Man goes on holiday after a major tournament.
“Rafael Nadal looks in great spirits on board luxury yacht during sun-soaked holiday in Ibiza… days after crashing out of Wimbledon semi final” is the headline in the Daily Mail.
