Tennis Today: Novak Djokovic’s slide gets the meme treatment while Caroline Wozniacki braves the cold
It is a bit slow in the world of tennis so Tennis Today is mostly fun involving Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki.
What’s on the site
World No 1 Novak Djokovic is off to another blistering start to the season as he is currently 18-0 so it’s only right that we recall his phenomenal 41-0 start to the 2011 season.
Staying with Djokovic, and former world No 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero believes the Serb will surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the race for most Grand Slams.
Meanwhile, the Nadal and Federer bromance is in full bloom with the former saying “it’s a rivalry, but at the same time it is a friendship”.
The Fever-Tree Championships organisers have announced two more players for this year’s tournament with Nick Kyrgios and Marin Cilic the latest to join the star-studded field.
It has been a while since we have seen US Open champion Bianca Andreescu on court and her coach admits it is still a case of wait and see with regards to the defence of her Indian Wells Masters title.
What’s in the news
The inaugural bett1 Open will have at least two big-name players competing after Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin and teenager Coco Gauff signed up for the grass-court tournament, reports WTAtennis.com.
The tournament will take place from June 13-21 in Berlin, Germany.
The filming of King Richard, a biopic about Serena Williams and Venus Williams’ father, is the Daily Mail’s new favourite thing as they have a story with pics of Will Smith almost every day.
