Tennis Today: Rafael Nadal steps up to the plate to help Majorca flooding victims

In Tennis Today, Rafael Nadal reminds us of just how awesome he is.
What’s on the site
It was probably always going to come to a head at some point, but Alexander Zverev has become the fist top player to blast the new Davis Cup format.
He’s essentially said he’s boycotting it – and he’s warned he is unlikely to be the only one.
In an ominous warning to any rivals who might not have noticed Novak Djokovic’s borderline unbeatable imperious form recently, he has seen the need to actually confirm he’s much better than he was at the start of the year when he could barely win a match.
And Johanna Konta has identified who’s to blame for her spectacularly bad season.
It’s the coach, so she’s got rid. Sorted.
What’s in the news
Rafael Nadal is so fiercely proud of his home island of Majorca that he was always going to be very personally affected by the sever flash floods that occurred there earlier this week.
He has, though, proven what a stand-up guy he is by giving actual practical help rather than simply best wishes.
Ten have been confirmed dead after torrential rain hit the island, with the devastating storm leaving hundred more homeless.
“Sad day in Majorca,” Nadal wrote on Twitter.
“My sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased and injured by the severe floods in Sant Llorenc.
“As we did yesterday we offer today the facilities of the Rafael Nadal Academy for all those who need accommodation.”
And, not only that, but he was also willing to get his own hands dirty too.
