Tennis Today: Roger Federer just couldn’t seem to care less about anything

In Tennis Today, Roger Federer is chilled-out about everything – everything – and Novak Djokovic offers a hell of a #TBT.
What’s on the site
You may have missed some of important things that happened in the world of tennis during September, so here is your A to Z of tennis snapshot.
Could Serena Williams really be looking at a post-tennis future as a professional wrestler? The WWE seem to want her, but we argue that tennis should want her more.
Speaking of Serena, she’s one of many high-profile absentees for the US Team for their Fed Cup final. Sigh. Desperately unpopular reinvention of the competition in 3…2…1….
Oh, and if you were hoping for some reliable updates on Rafael Nadal’s fitness ahead of the ATP Finals, well you’re out of luck.
What’s in the news
If Roger Federer was any more relaxed right now he’d probably be horizontal.
If the media is to be believed, the 37-year-old is embroiled in a frantic race against his fiercest rivals to be year-end world number one, but he appears to not really give a fudge about that.
“I don’t even know if I still can. I don’t know the situation.” Federer commented.
“I didn’t come here to win Paris. Maybe that answers the question. My objective is London. If I can do well here in Paris, all the better.
“I’m trying to play this tournament without any pressure to see how it turns out, without any expectations.
“It is a pleasure for me to play at such a tournament for once, because often in the past it’s always good to play well because of the rhythm or because you’ve been preparing yourself for many weeks.
“This time, it’s different. It’s after I won a tournament (Swiss Indoors). I just tried to play as good as I can. If it turns out well, good. If it doesn’t, well, too bad. I tried.”
