What’s in the news
Amazon is continuing to pick up tennis rights as they have signed an agreement with the French Tennis Federation to stream matches at Roland Garros from 2021.
The agreement with Amazon is for “Package 2, which includes matches played on the Simonne-Mathieu court and night sessions on the Philippe-Chatrier court. Semi-finals and finals will be co-broadcast (with France Televisions).”
She has already received her country’s highest award, the “Star of Romania” order, and the Patriarchal Cross from the Orthodox Church, and now Simona Halep has been honoured with postage stamps in Romania.
They are called “Simona Halep, the Romanian tennis ambassador”, reports AGERPRES.
“The stamp of the souvenir sheet illustrates the image of Simona Halep raising the Wimbledon 2019 trophy.”
