Tennis Today: Tributes to Rafael Nadal after latest milestone

In Tennis Today, plenty about Rafael Nadal joining the 900-match win club, a few stories about Serena Williams and something about Daria Kasatkina being left “homeless”.

We brought you an exclusive on Monday and it’s the news that Andy Murray fans have been waiting for as he is set to hit the Wimbledon practise courts this week.
The big news from the French Open on Monday was Serena Williams’ withdrawal ahead of her clash with Maria Sharapova.
Russian Sharapova has taken time out to wish Williams well.
Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev just cannot get enough of the Yorkshire accent.

What’s in the news
This is a little bit late, but the Daily Mail has the story on Inside Tennis journalist Bill Simons apologising after he asked Serena Williams if she was “intimidated by Maria Sharapova’s supermodel good looks”, which was something that Donald Trump suggested back in 2004.
Daria Kasatkina’s longer than expected stay in Paris has left her homeless, reports Reuters.
She had to vacate the place she was renting on Monday, the same day she was playing Caroline Wozniacki. And after beating the Dane, she was forced to book herself into a hotel.
The Daily Mail with some other “important” stories as they report “Alexis Ohanian takes daughter Olympia out grocery shopping in Paris hours after Serena Williams pulls out of French Open”.
You know it’s important for The Mail to tell you what people wear and “Ohanian was dressed down for running errands”. He was “sporting sweats, sneakers, and a bright blue tank top, Ohanian carried a paper bag from the grocery store Carrefour while holding a protective hand over Olympia”.
Alexis Ohanian seems to be the man of the moment as The Sun goes with “ACE NEWS Who is Alexis Ohanian, what is Serena Williams’ husband’s net worth and when did he co-found Reddit?”
Well, The Sun is doing profiles on the significant others of several top players. They have Xisca Perello, Rafael Nadal’s girlfriend, and Maria Sharapova’s “boyfriend” Alexander Gilkes.
Interesting stuff from ITV with Express Sport reporting that they have opted to use host John Inverdale on the Sky Go app instead of, you know, Rafael Nadal or one of the other top players.
