WATCH: Incredible 360 shot from Rafael Nadal against Roger Federer
Can’t wait for Friday, and are looking for something to help keep you going until then? Then take a look at this short 24-second video of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
The Mighty Federer and the King of Clay met a total of 40 times, and within those times, they certainly brought us some spectacular moments over the years. So, let’s take a look at one that will surely get your gears turning.
The video starts with a beautiful serve from Nadal, which is returned by an excellent Federer backhand. The pair then set off with a short but exciting rally, as the two squared off with some incredibly fast reactions and even faster shots.
Federer attempted to catch Nadal out with a cheeky overhead shot, but the Spaniard was ready for it. Nadal sprang into action and returned it with an exquisite jumping 360 shot that was just too far for Federer to reach. What a way to secure a point against one of the greatest tennis players of all time.
“Oh, look at that. I mean, how good is that?” said the commentator, and we can easily agree with the commentator’s reaction because that shot was majestic.
Not many players have the nerve to try a shot like that, but Nadal is certainly one that is willing to put in the extra effort to secure a point and excite the crowd.
“I mean, he’s done a full 360.” said the commentator, the viewers’ heads are probably still turning as they try to figure out how he did that.
Nadal was certainly pleased with himself as he pointed and laughed at Federer, who was in utter disbelief at what he just saw.
Check out Federer’s reaction at 15 seconds into the video. The Swiss star walks back to the line as he prepares for the next point. On his way back, he shows his appreciation for the perfectly executed Nadal shot as he mimics his rival’s efforts with a 360 move himself.
“Even Federer can’t believe it.” said the commentator, and we can definitely say that many of the fans watching couldn’t believe it either.
It’s always great to see an athlete commend an opponent for their brilliant efforts, and Federer certainly did that for his Spanish rival.
A joyful spell of play between the two rivals, who have clearly enjoyed playing against each other. Hopefully, one day we will see the pair reunite for some more entertaining viewing.
